India-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum 2026

India-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum 2026 organised by GIBF and the Ethiopian embassy on August 21 in Pune, garnered a good response. The programme began with the national anthems of India and Ethiopia followed by Ganesh Vandana. H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, Founder and Global President of GIBF Dr. Jitendra Joshi, Secretary General Deepali Gadkari and other office bearers were present for the Forum that saw the participation of 50+ business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts from India and Ethiopia.

H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, being felicitated by Founder and Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, at the India-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum 2026, organised by GIBF and the Ethiopian embassy, in Pune on August 21. More than 50 business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts from India and Ethiopia attended the Forum. The Forum aimed at greater trade, increased investment, technology transfer, employment generation, stronger supply chains, enhanced skills and deeper people-to-people connections.

Founder and Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, delivered the inaugural speech at the India-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum 2026. He informed about GIBF's exponential growth in matter of 8+ years. He said that Africa has always been an important part of GIBF's global vision, and Ethiopia has been an integral part of this journey. "The India–Africa Business Conclave has grown into a significant platform for connecting Indian and African businesses. After three successful editions, GIBF is coming up with its fourth edition in collaboration with Vibrant Goa Foundation," he said appealing people to take advantage of the iconic Conclave.

On the occasion, Dr. Alikali Sy, Director of Africa Region – GIBF, was felicitated by Founder and Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, Secretary General Ms. Deepali Gadkari, and Global Director - Investment and Business Council Mr. Abhishek Joshi, in the esteemed presence of H.E. Molalign Asfaw. He was presented with a certificate of association with the GIBF and the Regional Director badge along with the appointment letter.

The official inauguration of India-Africa Business Conclave Edition 4 along with Vibrant Goa Foundation, on 9th-10th October 2026 and release of the brochure, took place. These were formally inaugurated by H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, Founder and Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, Secretary General Ms. Deepali Gadkari, and Global Director - Investment and Business Council Mr. Abhishek Joshi, and Dr. Alikali Sy, GIBF Director of Africa Region.

H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, gave an insightful presentation on the country's market potential, investment opportunities, and lucrative sectors, the government's initiatives to increase foreign investment and how Ethiopia is a strategic gateway to the wider African economy. He urged the Indian business leaders to expand their business in Ethiopia that has been declared as the fastest growing economy in the world. He said that India and Ethiopia share a strong bond that dates more than 2000 years ago and appealed to the Indian businesses to increase the trade relations by investing in Ethiopia.

The Ambassador shared a valuable presentation on the country's market potential, investment opportunities, the government's initiatives to increase foreign investment and benefits of investing in Ethiopia that is a gateway to the African markets. This was followed by a Q&A session wherein the participants got their queries answered by the ambassador.

On this occasion, GIBF's new Board of Directors – Associate and Regional were welcomed by GIBF. They were presented with a certificate of association with the GIBF and the Associate Director/Regional Director badges by Founder and Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, Secretary General Ms. Deepali Gadkari, and Global Director - Investment and Business Council Mr. Abhishek Joshi, in the esteemed presence of H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India.

Mr. Aman, the Founder of Roterial Global Trade Pvt. Ltd. was especially felicitated at the hands of H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India for his outstanding contribution in his field.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between GIBF (Global India Business Forum) and RECI (Rural Entrepreneurs Connect Initiative). The MoU was signed by Founder and Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi and Mr. Sachin Itkar, Co-founder and Director of RECI in the esteemed presence of H.E. Molalign Asfaw, Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, GIBF Secretary General Ms. Deepali Gadkari, and Global Director - Investment and Business Council Mr. Abhishek Joshi.
