The 
Global India Business Forum (GIBF) launched the
                        India-Uzbekistan Business and Cultural Council for augmenting bilateral trade between the two
                        countries, on May 10
th at Hotel JRD Exotica, New Delhi. A seminar was held
                        on Business and Investment opportunities for Import and Export in Uzbekistan.
                         
                        This council has been established to create a network of businesses, businessmen, entrepreneurs,
                        connect MSMEs across countries and create tie-ups between chambers of commerce among India and
                        Uzbekistan.
                         
                        The honourable guests were H.E. Mr. Furkat SIDIKOV - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.E.
                        Mr. Dilshod AKHATOV - Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in India; Mr. Aziz ALIEV - Deputy
                        Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Oybek ESHONOV
                        - Head of Department for Cooperation with Countries of South Asia, Near, Middle East and Africa,
                        Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Shokhrukh SHOGIYASOV - Second Secretary, Department for
                        Cooperation with Countries of South Asia, Near, Middle East and Africa, Ministry of Foreign
                        Affairs; and Mr. Imom SALIMOV - Counsellor (Trade and Economic Issues), Embassy of Uzbekistan in
                        India.
                         
                        Global President of GIBF, Dr. Jitendra Joshi and Co-founder,Director Mrs.Deepali Gadkari were
                        present for the launch and seminar that was attended by entrepreneurs in large numbers. Dr.
                        Joshi gave the introductory speech to the esteemed audience.
                         
                        The seminar threw light on India’s and Uzbekistan’s import and export potential The major items
                        of India’s exports are pharmaceutical products, mechanical equipment, vehicle parts, services,
                        optical instruments and equipment. India’s imports from Uzbekistan consist largely of fruit and
                        vegetable products, services, fertilizers, juice products and extracts, and lubricants.
                         
                        The delegates spoke about enhancing the bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and India,
                        particularly in IT, textiles, pharmacy and healthcare, dry fruits, fertilizers, jewelry and many
                        other sectors.
